Ellen's first yoga class
Although Ellen was a fitness professional, her first yoga class in a studio was truly memorable. (not in a good way!) She had no idea how to line up, stand or sit on her mat, or follow along with the teacher. She felt extremely clumsy and unfit.
Now she is a RYT-500 (500 hour certified yoga instructor) and couldn't love the practice more. However, that "out of place" feeling from her first class never left her. She wants to bring the basics to anyone curious about yoga so that they are ready to join a local community or practice at home.

Insights from a long time student
When Ellen first offered a class for Men's Yoga eight years ago, I signed up for my first-ever yoga class. I really didn't know much about practicing yoga other than it seemed to be a healthy and stress-reducing exercise to try. With Ellen's lead using an instructional yet relaxing format, I became more confident and my initial interest turned to an affinity for yoga and its inherent community of shared experience. I quickly began to enjoy it to the extent that I worked it into my schedule as a meaningful activity of each week. I've found the regular practice of yoga has dramatically improved my overall flexibility and helps protect against minor injuries from seemingly routine activities. Reflecting back to when I started yoga, I'm grateful to Ellen for offering that introductory Men's Yoga class that is now a meaningful part of my life for good physical and mental health.
